Galveston County Master Gardener Jim Gilliam's presentation will teach you how to compost, what factors to measure and monitor, and how to use the finished product to the best advantage. Compost is the most important addition gardeners can provide to improve their garden soils. America recycles about 34% of its daily refuse. The rest goes into sanitary landfills. Aquaponics Gardening

Galveston County Master Gardener Robin Collins will explain what an aquaponics system is, how to set up and maintain one, and the advantages of using aquaponics over more traditional methods of growing vegetables and herbs. Included in the presentation will be information about the wide variety of herbs and vegetables that grow successfully using this method, as well as how to select which fish to use.
