This validation is for:

• Steers attending ANY 2022-2023 Major Shows (e.g., State Fair, Houston, San Antonio, etc.)
• Heifers attending 2022 State Fair of TX/Heart of TX (can also be used for early validation for 2023 major shows)

The following MUST be present AT VALIDATION

• Animal being validated
• Registration papers for REGISTERED breeding animals (not needed for crossbred gilts or commercial/whether dams/does)
  • Verify information on registration paper (heifer tattoo/brand, sheep flock tag, goat flock/individual tattoo) matches animal BEFORE validation
• Parent/guardian – must be present to sign paperwork
  • Parents unable to attend must come to Extension Office BEFORE validation to sign WAVIER & paperwork, NO exception
  • Parents may sign for exhibitor if child cannot attend
  • Ag Teachers CANNOT sign on behalf of parent

Families with conflicts, must make alternate arrangements PRIOR TO VALIDATION, with

• Ag Science Teacher . . . . . . if showing under FFA
• County Extension Agent . . . . . . if showing under 4-H
