Vegetable Garden Series: Fall Vegetables

August 9, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Galveston County Master Gardener Gene Speller will present a program on growing Cruciferous and other leafy vegetables normally grown during fall and winter months. The list includes popular varieties of broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, kale, mustard and turnip greens.  Other leafy vegetables include several varieties of lettuce, spinach and Swiss chard.  A discussion of applicable pest management practices is also included.  Many of the vegetables discussed in this program will be offered for sale as transplants at the Galveston County Master Gardener Annual Fall Festival & Plant Sale in October.
