Oyster Farming 101 Workshop is designed to introduce the fundamentals of oyster aquaculture and its benefits to Galveston County. This event highlights the growing opportunities in mariculture, an industry that supports sustainable seafood production.

The workshop will be hosted by Texas Sea Grant and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and presented by the Oyster Resource and Recovery Center (ORRC), part of the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies. Participants will learn about the permits, equipment, and techniques required to start an oyster farm, as well as the role of oyster farming in supporting local ecosystems and creating economic opportunities for coastal communities.
