**CANCELLED** Louisiana Irises

March 21 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Due to community health concerns regarding COVID-19, to support the need for increased social distancing and to do our part to ensure the safety of our community this Galveston County Master Gardener seminar has been cancelled.

Iris enthusiast and Galveston County Master Gardener Monica Martens will provide an overview of how to care for and increase the variety of hybrids and species irises in our community. This program includes a tour in the Demonstration Garden of the two new iris beds. Focusing specifically on this hardy type for our climate, this presentation covers how to obtain Louisiana Irises and share/trade among friends. Best practices for abundant blooms will be discussed, as well as landscaping mishaps and successes. We will also provide an update on our iris preservation work.

All programs are conducted at the Galveston County AgriLife Extension Office at 4102-B Main Street (FM 519) inside Carbide Park in La Marque, and are free to the public except when noted. However, we ask that you pre-register so we can ensure there is an adequate number of handouts.
